"Play is the work of childhood, where every toy becomes a tool for
imagination, growth, and learning." We at DPS Surat believe that play is an
important part of learning. Our young ones of Pre-Nursery could partake in the
joyous celebration of Toy Week, filled with creativity and exploration from 3rd
February to 7th February 2025. The children not only had fun but also
developed skills like: fine motor skills through manipulating toys and engaging
in activities like building with blocks and assembling puzzles, social skills
through sharing toys, working in groups, and taking turns. Imagination and
creativity through pretend play and crafts helped them think outside the box.
We explored the wonderful world of toys in all shapes, sizes, and colors, while
developing important skills through play. They explored the various materials
that make up toys, learned how to care for them, and discovered the unique
characteristics that makes each toy special. Our little ones also had the chance
to create their very own toys with safe, fun materials. From rattles to button
spinners, they used their creativity to make something special to take home
each day. On the last day of the week, students were invited to bring their
favorite teddy to school! We had a special toy parade where each child could
share their toy with their friends, showing off its unique features and why they
love it. It was a week filled with laughter, learning, and of course—lots of toys!
The kids had a toy-rific time during Toy Week—who knew playtime could be so
educational and fun!
