On 28 August 2024, the hallways and the stage resonated with the chant ‘Hathi Ghoda Palki.. Jai Kanhaiyalal Ki’. The vibrant celebrations of Janmashtami, the festival commemorating the birth of Lord Krishna, were brought alive with an array of cultural and creative performances by the students of Classes I-G and I-H. The enigmatic ‘Matki Phod’ by the little ‘Govindas’ of Class II was the show-stealer. The celebrations were a blend of fun, learning, and cultural immersion.
Students participated in dance and drama presentations that depicted episodes from Krishna's life, such as his playful exploits and miraculous deeds.
Such celebrations at DPS Surat continue to embrace and celebrate Janmashtami and ensure that this cherished festival remains a lively and integral part of student life, instilling values and traditions that students will carry with them throughout their lives.
