At this stage, with Board exam under their belt, our students are eager to confront the world and chart out their unique roles in it. They are the architects of our country’s future and whether they become engineers, doctors, teachers, researchers, chemists, media persons, actors or politicians, we expect them to forge new pathways in their relevant spheres of action. Not just India, but the world needs people who are uncompromising in their standards of performance, quick in their decision making ability, unfazed by challenges and capable of overcoming temptations. Hence, our concern in the Senior Secondary level is with rigour and discipline for students. We do not encourage the rapidly changing fads and fashions of megacity teenage portals. Instead, we insist on more serious and permanent survival skills. We do not want our youngsters to ‘blend’ and ‘chill with the gang’ but to stand out with leadership abilities in a world lacking in them. So there is a multiple focus on various academic and meta-academic study skills, personality development, as well as excellence in various competitive spheres like sports, public speaking and dramatics. This is where our learners stand on the threshold of independence and adulthood. We implement rigorous schedules of assignments and assessments to ensure that our learners assume responsibility for their future achievements.
