Field trips are a staple of school life, offering students a chance to step outside the classroom and engage with their communities in new and meaningful ways. On 29th and 30th August 2024, students of Class 2 went on a field trip to ‘Lalbhai Contractor Stadium’ to celebrate the rich tapestry of their neighbourhood. What unfolded was a day of discovery, community pride, and valuable lessons that extended beyond the typical curriculum.
As students boarded the buses, their chatter was filled with curiosity about the day’s destination. The journey started at the school gates, where the destination was revealed and the excitement buzzed in the air.
The enthusiastic students traversed a series of places like theatres, restaurants, shopping malls, schools, places of worship etc., on the way.
Students were then treated to a special visit to different sports areas, a stadium, a swimming pool, a game zone etc. at ‘Lalbhai Contractor Stadium’.
This neighbourhood field trip was a testament to the value of local exploration in education.
