Have you ever wondered how that juicy mango or crunchy carrot ends up on your plate? On 13th and 14th June 2024, Class 1 students of DPS Surat embarked on a learning adventure with a school field trip to a real working farm! This trip wasn't just about fresh air and wide-open spaces; it provided the young Dipsites, a chance to become junior botanists, exploring the fascinating world of agriculture. The little ones swapped textbooks for trowels and delved into the colourful world of fruits and vegetables like chikoo, mango, guava, jackfruit, banana, coconut, fig, lemon and star fruit. They also discovered some unique trees like Lakshman phal or soursop, a fruit native to Brazil. But this wasn't just a watching game! The enthusiastic Dipsites got to touch and feel different types of leaves, differentiate between the raw and ripe mangoes
The farm field trip wasn't just about agriculture; it was about connecting with nature and understanding the importance of food production. The young inquisitive learners gained a newfound appreciation for the hard work and dedication that goes into putting food on their tables.
