In an age when technology often takes center stage in education, a field trip on the 6th, 7th and 8th of August for Class 1 Dipsites proved that sometimes, the best learning experiences come from time-honoured sources. The little readers visited the Veer Narmad Library, in light of the forthcoming Literacy Fest.
The library tour began with a walk through the library's diverse collection. Students marvelled at the sheer volume of books. The librarians highlighted various sections explaining how the vast knowledge is organized, informing the important library rules and prerequisites to handle books. This was a practical lesson in classification that complemented their classroom studies.
One of the highlights was a separate section for visually challenged readers. The students were flabbergasted to see and touch their books in Braille script.
The school field trip to the library was a resounding success, demonstrating that libraries are more than just repositories of books—they are dynamic educational spaces that offer valuable learning experiences. As they left the library, the students carried with them not only a deeper understanding of how to use these valuable resources but also a greater appreciation for the timeless joy of reading and learning. The field trip turned out to be a day of discovery, inspiration, and hands-on learning.
