On 22 and 23 October 2024, Delhi Public School Surat organized a vibrant special assembly for Classes 7 to 10 to celebrate Diwali, the festival of lights. The event aimed to foster understanding of cultural traditions and promote unity among students. The assembly commenced with an enthusiastic welcome speech by the class representatives, who highlighted the significance of Diwali, emphasizing themes of victory over darkness and the importance of love and compassion. This was followed by a captivating cultural program featuring traditional dances, Nukkad Natak, Diwali Quiz and skits that illustrated various Diwali customs. A melodious group song dedicated to the spirit of Diwali resonated throughout the ambience, leaving the audience in high spirits. The assembly also included a brief presentation on the environmental aspects of Diwali, encouraging eco-friendly practices.
To conclude, the event was a success, promoting not only the celebration of Diwali but also the values of teamwork and respect for cultural diversity. The students were praised for their creativity and effort in organizing the assembly, making it a memorable occasion for all.
