On 19 October 2024, Class 9 of Delhi Public School Surat organized a MATH BAZAAR to provide practical applications of mathematical concepts like budgeting, pricing, and profit calculation. The event featured a diverse range of items, including apparel, jewellery, toys, electronics, and grocery items, sold to Class 10 students. In preparation, Class 9 students conducted market research to identify popular items, created budgets, and calculated profit margins, ensuring a well-organized event. The bazaar was lively, with Class 10 students actively engaging in shopping and negotiating prices and billing. This hands-on experience allowed students to apply their mathematical knowledge in a real-world context, enhancing their understanding of economics and financial literacy. Feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive. Class 10 students appreciated the creativity and quality of the products, while Class 9 students reported valuable insights into pricing strategies and customer interaction. In conclusion, the Math Bazaar successfully fostered entrepreneurial skills and collaboration among students.
