On 07 Aug 2024, class X of Delhi Public School Surat visited Dainik Bhaskar Surat to explore the newspaper production process. It began with a brainstorming introductory activity- Crossword to acquaint the students with the content, vocabulary, terms and terminologies related to print media. A tour of the pre-press area to understand digital file handling and layout preparation, was followed by witnessing the printing machines in action, learning about offset printing and quality control. Students also observed how newspapers are sorted and bundled for distribution. This insightful trip deepened their understanding of journalism, emphasizing the technical intricacies and collaborative efforts involved in delivering news to the public through print media. The field trip to the newspaper printing press was highly informative and enriching. DPS SURAT appreciates the efforts of the entire team at Dainik Bhaskar for their hospitality and for answering numerous queries while providing valuable insights. This experience has augmented the knowledge of media and journalism.
