On August 20, 2024, students from Delhi Public School Surat attended ‘Artience’-Blending the boundaries of science and arts, an innovative event hosted by Fountainhead School Surat. This unique competition provided a platform for students to showcase their creative and scientific talents. The event was open to students from Grades 7 to 10. who competed in a series of stimulating challenges. The event featured three distinct categories. In Visual Arts category, a team created an interactive display of the cosmic web, while the other developed a software application calleSonic Spectrum, which converts colours into sound with practical applications, including aiding colour blind individuals in colour identification. In the STEM-Based category, a team built a working model of renewable energy sources called ‘Eco power’, while the other team created a mini model of hydroponics. Lastly, in the Performance-Based category, students performed an individual dance themed on constellations, and a team presented a skit on the ‘Kardashev Scale’, exploring levels of technological advancement in civilizations.
The students participated enthusiastically demonstrating their talents and a deep understanding of the integration between science and art. Competing against students from other schools in the region, they showcased creativity, problem-solving skills, and scientific knowledge. This innovative experience proved highly valuable, fostering both artistic expression and scientific thinking.
