With the spirit of democracy at the forefront, DPS Surat empowered students through a Mini Model of Election, bringing the electoral process to life. The event included a wide array of activities commencing with Class VII students designing posters that illustrated party symbols and their respective visions, while Class VIII students took part in a board decoration activity centred around the theme of elections. These preliminary activities laid the groundwork for the main event—stage campaigning on August 17, 2024—where student candidates eloquently presented their manifestos, addressing pivotal issues such as environmental conservation, gender equality, safety for women and the improvement of transportation infrastructure. The electoral process concluded with voting on August 21, 2024, with the students casting their votes, after which the party leaders were interviewed to reflect on their campaigns and visions. The Election Commissioner then announced the results, marking the end of this educational exercise. This initiative not only deepened student's understanding of democracy but also highlighted the importance of informed voting and active civic participation. Additionally, it was instrumental in refining the student's leadership capabilities and public speaking skills, offering them a well-rounded introduction to the responsibilities of democratic engagement.
