Making artistic floor art designs is a very integral part of Indian culture and heritage. Various states have their own way of making floor Art. Mandana, Rangoli, Kolam and Alpana are some intricate design forms made using natural materials like rice flour and coloured powders, which grace doorsteps and courtyards. It is believed that these patterns, blending geometric shapes and nature motifs, symbolize prosperity and good fortune. Passed down through the ages, these traditions exhibit diverse regional styles, mirroring India's rich cultural diversity.
On World Heritage Day, April 18th, 2024, the essence of these customs resonated profoundly as the students of Class VI took part in making beautiful art pieces in the quadrangle. Each class presented their chosen art form through wonderful designs. Looking at their zeal and enthusiasm, it was clear that India’s cultural legacy is safe in the hands of these torch bearers of the future.
