On October 24, 2024, Delhi Public School Surat celebrated Diwali with a vibrant array of activities that showcased the creativity and spirit of the students of Classes 7 to 10. The festivities kicked off with a Rangoli competition, where students used colourful powders, flowers, and eco-friendly materials to create intricate designs that adorned the school premises. This activity not only highlighted their artistic talents but also fostered teamwork
among participants. Following the Rangoli, students engaged in a Diya decoration activity. Armed with paints, glitter, and other decorative items, they transformed plain clay diyas into beautiful works of art, ready to illuminate their homes during the festival. The Toran making session was equally engaging, with students crafting traditional door hangings using natural materials, symbolizing the welcoming of prosperity and joy. The lantern-making competition added a festive touch, as students constructed vibrant lanterns that would light up their celebrations. The creativity displayed was truly impressive, showcasing a blend of traditional and modern designs. Finally, the Diwali pop-up card making competition allowed students to express their festive spirit in a personalized way. They created unique cards featuring Diwali themes. The day culminated in a celebration of culture, creativity, and community spirit. This comprehensive series of activities not only educated students about Diwali traditions but also encouraged artistic expression and collaboration, making it a memorable celebration at DPSS.
