On 31 August 2024, Delhi Public School Surat succeeded in securing 2nd position at the Synthesis 2024- Interschool Debate Competition held at Reliance Foundation School Surat. The team, led by Aarvi Jain, Rohit Kumar and Samyak Rajpal of Grade 10, delivered impressive performances across all rounds.
In the Quarter Finals, the team excelled in presenting their arguments for the motion that ‘The Education System is not adequately preparing students for the future job markets’. The team continued their strong performance in the Semi Finals and Finals on the topics ‘National Security vs Privacy’ and ‘It’s better to be right than to be kind’ respectively. The team dedicated extensive time to research and understand the topics. Their meticulous preparation and effective argumentation were commendable.
The judges praised the team for their clarity of thought, logical structure, and engaging rebuttals. Specific commendation of Competent Debater was given to Samyak Rajpal for the ability to address counterarguments and maintain composure under pressure. The competition highlighted the team's debating prowess and enhanced the school's stature in academic and extracurricular achievements.
