On Tuesday, 23rd July 2024, Delhi Public School Surat observed Foundational Literacy and Numeracy Day as a part of the CBSE Shiksha Saptaha Week with engaging activities designed to enhance student's mathematical acumen. Class VII students delved into the Angle Sum Property of triangles through an interactive paper-cutting exercise, while Class VIII students explored the properties of kites and rhombuses through intricate paper-folding tasks.
To familiarize students of Class IX with basic algebraic identities and their applications, varied Math Lab activities were premeditated. Students of Class X enthusiastically participated in a challenge focused on Arithmetic Progressions (AP). Through this challenge, students improved their ability to identify terms, find common differences, and apply formulas. Math Bingo-Housie with mathematical equations, Square Root Spiral, Magic Square Puzzle and Sudoku were some of the engaging activities which helped students improve their mental math skills, problem-solving abilities, number and pattern recognition while enjoying a game-like atmosphere. The meticulously crafted hands-on activities effectively reinforced the fundamental geometric concepts, fostering a deeper understanding and a genuine appreciation for mathematics among the students.
