The Japan Arts Council, in collaboration with various cultural institutions and art galleries, recently hosted a remarkable event JAPAN ON CANVAS 2024 – 10 National Level Painting Competition, for students in grades 7 to 10. This artistic showcase aimed to illuminate the rich cultural heritage and modern dynamism of Japan through the medium of visual art. A total of 33 carefully selected paintings advanced to the next level, highlighting the competition's success in meeting its objectives. Notably, Ananya Kabra and Aditi Bedia from Class 10 received special recognition for their extraordinary performances.
Centred around the themes of Cultural Landmarks in Japan and Historical Figures of Japan, & the event celebrated the intricate tapestry of Japanese culture, traditions, and contemporary life. It provided a unique platform for young artists to display their creativity and gain recognition for their work. Participants embraced the opportunity to explore and express the beauty of Japan through their artwork, conveying deep appreciation for the
exposure and experiences gained through this competition. The Japan on Canvas competition not only highlighted the breadth and depth of Japanese
art but also fostered greater international engagement with Japanese culture. This event was a true testament to the power of artistic expression in bridging cultures and celebrating diversity.
