On October 25, 2024, the students of Class XII science stream visited SMIMER (Surat Municipal Institute of Medical Education and Research) on an educational field trip aimed at enhancing their understanding of medical education and healthcare services. SMIMER, renowned for offering comprehensive medical education and tertiary healthcare, provided an enriching experience closely aligned with the students' curriculum. The visit began with a guided tour of key departments, including Anatomy, Physiology, and Pathology, followed by explorations of specialized labs in Microbiology, Histopathology, and Haematology. Faculty members and healthcare professionals explained the functioning of various medical instruments and equipment while introducing students to the institute’s role in delivering quality healthcare to the Surat community. This educational experience gave the students a practical insight into the healthcare industry, inspiring many of them to consider pursuing careers in medicine and healthcare. The visit also offered valuable exposure, reinforcing concepts studied in the classroom and encouraging deeper interest in the medical field.
