A fire safety awareness session was conducted on 6 September 2024 at the Delhi Public School, Surat campus, for the members of the Student Council. Organized by SLOAK Fire Safety Corporation, this program provided the Council members with ‘The Basic Training on Fire and Safety’, focusing on identifying different types of fires and handling various fire extinguishers.
The session began with an introduction to the types of fires: A-type (Solid Fuel), B-type (Liquid Fuel), and C-type (Gas and Electrical Fuel). This was followed by a detailed explanation of the different extinguishers, such as ABC-type and CO2-type. A live demonstration showcased how to use these extinguishers effectively, after which both students and teachers participated in a hands-on practice session. Participants learned not only about fire prevention but also the correct techniques for using extinguishers, highlighting their advantages over unprofessional methods. The session concluded with an engaging Q&A, which reinforced the students' understanding and left them with a sense of preparedness.
