On 3 August 2024, Class XI Commerce and Humanities Stream students went on a field visit to The School for Handicapped Children, operated by The Disable Welfare Trust of India in Surat. This NGO, established in 1997 by Shri Kanubhai Hasmukhbhai Tailor, has been dedicated to the welfare of differently-abled individuals. The Trust provides a range of services, including education, training, and rehabilitation for physically challenged beneficiaries. Their facilities include a school up to the 12th standard, a BCA College, an ITI, a hostel, a physiotherapy centre, a prosthesis centre, a skill development centre, and a hospital where corrective surgeries are performed. They offer free education, vocational training, rehabilitation facilities, transportation, stationery, textbooks, and mid-day meals. During the visit, the Principal provided the students with detailed information about the institution. The students then visited classrooms and interacted with children from grades 1 to 12 through a survey questionnaire.
