In the competitive landscape of higher education and university admissions, academic excellence alone is not enough. To guide grade 11 students in building a strong profile, a ‘Profile Building’ session was organized as part of Career Guidance program on 1 & 2 May 2024. The guidance emphasized the importance of meticulous planning and strategic time management in creating a standout profile. The core elements of a strong profile include a well-crafted curriculum vitae (CV), compelling letters of recommendation, a thoughtfully written statement of purpose (SOP), demonstrated performance in standardized tests, and a professional portfolio. Additionally, the session covered complementary elements such as engaging in research projects, securing internships, completing online courses, participating in extracurricular activities, volunteering, and attending summer workshops. Emphasis was put on the importance of early planning and strategic thinking. A well-structured plan is essential for creating a profile that stands out and captures the interest of university admission officers.
