The students of Class III had a field trip to a pottery studio, where they explored the art of pottery making. They learned about the entire process, starting with the preparation of clay and moving through each step of shaping it into beautiful pots. The potter demonstrated how the clay is carefully moulded on the potter’s wheel and explained other techniques like hand-building and adding decorative touches. The students also learned about the importance of drying the pots before they are fired in a kiln, which gives them strength and durability. They were amazed to see how various decorative techniques like carving and glazing add beauty to the final products. At the end of the visit, each student was given a piece of clay to create their own unique design, making the experience even more exciting and hands-on. This added an extra layer of excitement, making the experience even more engaging and enjoyable for everyone.
