Childhood is for Play and not for Pay. This quote describes perfectly the spirit on 12th June every year which is celebrated as World Against Child Labour Day. Every child deserves the right to education, play and a childhood free from exploitation. Unfortunately, millions of children worldwide are deprived of these basic rights and are forced to work for living and supporting their families.
The good Samaritans of Class VI A conducted a very thought-provoking assembly depicting that a single person may not be able to change the system and all the people in the world, but can surely make a change wherever it is possible. The assembly started with a prayer by the musical choir followed by a gripping skit portraying the grim reality of children working as household helpers and in factories. The ways to change this dismal state were also put forth through the skit. The conclusion was a lovely dance where the dreams and aspirations of children were depicted gracefully.
