This day is celebrated worldwide on 21 June every year since its inception in 2015, to spread awareness of the positive influences of yoga globally.
On this occasion, students of DPS Surat, participated in the celebration with great zeal and enthusiasm. A special assembly was held during which the students performed yogasanas, the benefits of which were enumerated to them. The session began with chanting Om and performing Brahmari Pranayam, followed by Suryanamaskar and various asanas ranging from Padmasana, Tadasana, Vrikshasana, Parvatasana, Vajrasana, Shashankasana, Yogmudrasana, Bhujangasana, Paschimottanasana, etc. The session ended with meditation. After this the students were calm and relaxed, all set to face the longest day of the year in India.
