The year started with aplomb as the students of Class III went on an exciting trip on 4th April 2024 to explore the amazing Baobab tree. It was an adventure filled with learning, discovery and lots of fun! Baobab trees are super special because they are some of the oldest and largest trees in the world. Baobab trees are native to Africa and are known for their impressive size and unique appearance. They have a distinctive shape with a thick trunk that can reach up to 10 m in diameter and branches that resemble roots. They are often referred to as "upside-down trees" due to their unusual appearance.

The children observed the tree with great enthusiasm and could differentiate the Baobab tree from other trees with regard to the size of the trunk, leaves, branches and resemblance of the branches to the roots of other trees. They also spotted birds flying around and squirrels hopping between the trees. Throughout the exploration, the inquisitive spirit of the students was at the forefront as they asked various questions, shared observations and expressed their awe and wonder at the beauty of nature.

The Baobab tree adventure proved to be a memorable and enriching experience for all.

The effort by Surat Municipal Corporation is worth appreciating and applauding as it gives great opportunity to the children to study this 400-year-old majestic tree which is the pride of Surat.
