MOVIES are like childhood habits which leave a print on every child’s mind. Movies may be romantic, action, cultural, thought provoking, or based on day to day incidents. Whatever the theme may be, all movies teach us something or the other. When life gets boring, movies add spice to it. Some movies may be forgitten, but real movies like Lagaan, Rang De Basanti, Iqbal, and Taare Zameen Par, force us to think twice about what makes life worthwhile.

Patriotic movies like Zameer, Mother India generally bore the modern youth for they do not remember the struggles and sacrifices behind our hard won Independence. All time romances like Mughal-e-Azam and Julie are loved even by couples today. Funny ones like Hungama and Hulchul are evergreen family entertainment. English classics like King Kong, Titanic and the Harry Potter series leave a deep imprint on our minds.

Also, there are teenage movies like High School Musical, Cheetah Girls and Twitches about which youngsters are simply crazy. Other movies like ……………….the list is endless! So I would like to conclude by saying, movies are simply MOVIES – made to move money into various pockets but sometimes ending up moving hearts and lives.

A movie is not only sitting on a well cushioned chair in a well furnished auditorium but it also leaves an impact on us. This year’s hit blast movies like Taare Zameen Par, Munnabhai M.B.B.S and Lage Raho Munnabhai have left a deep impact on us. A dyslexic boy, a dedicated teacher, and a ruffian turning to Gandhigiri in Aamche Mumbai have all had a positive impact on the audience. They try to realize the mistakes they themselves have made in their lives and try to sort them out.

Coming now to the negative impact, youngsters are really inspired by movies like Dhoom 2 and perform stunts that land them in the hospital ICU. Students also imitate dialogues from favourite movies and get into trouble at school for using bad language. They don’t understand the hidden message in the movie. So friends, don’t get into any trouble but enjoy yourselves with coke and popcorn.
