The Annual Drama Fest of Delhi Public School Surat was held on 13 January 2018 on the eve of the famous Kite Festival of Gujarat. The venue for the programme was the Sanjeev Kumar Auditorium at Adajan. The students of class VIII participated in the fest with great zeal and their parents too came in large numbers to encourage them. The programme started with an instrumental music performance by our budding musicians. They were followed by our vocalists who gave a brilliant rendition of the song ‘Sadbhavna’. The English play was based on O Henry’s short story ‘The Ransom of Red Chief’ and was set in the early 1900s. The brilliant performances by the students, their colourful costumes, peppy dances and beautiful stage props created the necessary ambience and took the audience back in time. The audience was enthralled as there was not a boring moment throughout. The English drama was followed by a Hindi drama entitled ‘Zara Chashma Hata Ke’. It too boasted of endearing performances, eye-catching costumes and lovely dances. On the whole, the audience went back home feeling happy and extremely proud of their wards.
