The 68th Republic Day was celebrated with all its solemnity and grandeur by the students and staff of Delhi Public School Surat. The students saluted the National Flag and pledged to uphold the honour, integrity, diversity and uniqueness of the country. The school band played the National Anthem which reverberated in the surroundings followed by a variety of cultural programmes leaving the audience mesmerized. A skit based on constitutional amendments was staged by the students, highlighting the social issues faced by the country in the light of the existing laws. The celebrations continued with song and dance programmes reminiscing the sacrifices made by the freedom fighters. The melodious music and graceful movements of the dancers were spellbinding. Endowed with zeal and enthusiasm, the students presented a street play and brought to the fore subjects like Gender Discrimination, Women Empowerment, Clean India Movement etc. When the programme concluded, the students dispersed with the image of fluttering tricolour in their minds and patriotism in their hearts.
